Ceremonies - Arrow of Light

Arrow Of Light Plaque

Cut a piece of 3/4 inch thick wood to a 24"x 6" rectangle. Route the edges. Trace the sun pattern and transfer onto the plaque placing the center ray just left of the center of the plaque. The top of the rays should be even with the routered edge on the top of the plaque. Paint the sun yellow. It may look nice to use a wood burning kit to burn an edge around the sun. Varnish the plaque and dry.

Nail two picture hooks on the back of the plaque about 1 1/2" from the side and 1/4 " from the top. Put the push in picture hanger on the top left side about 1/2 inch from the top and I" from the left side. Take the pins off the Webelos ribbon pin holder. Push the ribbons through the picture hanger on the left side of the plaque. Replace the pins on the pin holder.

Put the sticky backed Velcro squares on the right side in a diamond shape and stick on the bobcat, wolf, bear and Webelos badges. Other pieces of Velcro may be used for arrow points and religious awards.

Put the cup hooks on the bottom of the plaque 4" from each side and even with the bottom of the sun. You may have to drill a hole to get the hooks started. Slide the arrow through the hooks. Hang the compass award and progress towards ranks patches on the hooks with the arrow.

This is a pattern for 1/2 of the sun.
